Kayla Pengelly – Psychologist (Clinical Registrar)

Kayla is a board registered Psychologist with a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology. She is dedicated to building human connection; helping people create healthy relationships and well-being in all aspects of life.
She enjoys working with and has a history of experience with children, adolescents, parents, adults and couples, in private practice, school settings, as well as public community health settings
Kayla has a particular interest and experience working with anxiety disorders, depression, panic attacks, stress, post traumatic stress disorder, low self-worth, grief and loss, anger and emotional regulation issues, relationship issues (individual) and more.
Kayla's therapeutic approach is individualised depending on the clients presenting confers, however she often draws from a number of evidence-based therapies including, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). She believes it is very important to collaboratively work with her clients, tailoring her approach depending on their needs. Kayla continues to undertake training and supervision in various other evidence-based psychological therapies to widen her skills set and knowledge
She also ensures that she provides a warm, empathetic and non-judgemental space for clients. She encourages open and honest communication to ensure her clients feel comfortable in sharing and discussing their thoughts, feelings, behaviours and overall experiences each and every session. Above all, Kayla is passionate about helping her clients improve their quality of life.
Days available: Tuesday (face to face) and Wednesday (telehealth only)
